We are seeking candidates for the following: Communications and Projects Intern
Internship Summary
The Communications and Projects Intern will work with our team to design strategies to help inform Simply Strategy’s internal, partner, and client stakeholders. This individual will coordinate communication plans, create social media posts, and work towards successful outcomes – not just completed tasks. The ideal candidate for this position is an emerging professional who is intelligent, motivated, and accountable. Candidates should be eager to learn and take initiative over creative and/or social media efforts. The ideal candidate will have exposure and aptitude in public health and/or social services with an emphasis on communications, marketing, business, and/or psychology. Regardless of educational background, a demonstrated interest and a passion for supporting Simply Strategy in efforts to improving systems and organizations is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Providing creative direction on social media and marketing initiatives for Simply Strategy and clients including creating social media posting schedules and writing captions for social media posts
Collecting and organizing accurate information to develop communication interfacing with partners and vendors
Supporting client and partner in behind-the-scenes communication and project coordination
Contributing to organizational efficiency in project collaborations and working to enhance internal processes
Communication of ongoing schedules and coordination of deadlines
Collaboration with external vendors/clients to prepare materials and/or products
Required skillset:
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Experience with Mailchimp or other marketing automation platform
Exceptional knowledge of social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Experience with digital, advertising, or other project-related communication
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, written and verbally
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with teams
Ability to exercise sound judgement and work successfully with all employee levels, regardless of background and perspective
Educational background:
Progress toward a degree in public health, healthcare, and/or social work is preferred. Regardless of educational background, a demonstrated interest in communications, marketing, and/or research is needed.

The Communications and Project Intern position is a part-time, non-exempt position requiring 10-20 hours per week. In addition to joining a team prepared to expose an emerging professional to the workplace, teach workplace norms, and support interpersonal development, the compensation is $15/hour.
Note: we are not able to offer a practicum experience at this time.
