Senior Program Manager
Simply Strategy is a research services and strategy consulting firm that delivers research-based solutions to its clients by merging focused insight with thoughtful program management. We provide both businesses and non-profits with research services and strategy development to shape programs, brands, advocacy and communications, plus the project management necessary to keep efforts on-target and efficiently moving forward.
Our team is small, nimble, and personally passionate about our clients’ products and programs, which often focus on health and well-being, including in the maternal and child, financial, managed care, and public health fields.
We are seeking candidates for the following:
Sr. Program Manager to work with our multi-disciplinary team of Project Managers, Researchers, and Strategists on a variety of health and well-being programs as well as participate in the research, analysis, and project coordination across a variety of project types. This individual will work directly with our clients and in coordination with other team members and is accountable for the efficient and effective management of Simply Strategy’s role within the collaboration. They may also be involved in data collection efforts, data analysis, and all forms of qualitative and quantitative methods. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, survey design and analysis, report writing and data presentation, vendor management and project coordination. Both strong analysis and detail-oriented project coordination skills are required to be successful – so a strong “thinker” and “doer.”
In addition to client service and analysis, candidates should be able to work both as a member of a team and independently. Building strong relationships internally and externally is essential to achieving success in this role. The Sr. Program Manager will work on multiple projects simultaneously and should be prepared to pivot between them frequently. This job is different every day and requires someone who can quickly adapt to change (and accepts a little bit of entrepreneurial chaos). Must exude creativity in problem solving along with flexibility and a desire to learn.
While the Sr. Program Manager ultimately reports to the Vice President of Strategy, this role interacts with all team members and will collaborate with other Program/Project Managers. They will work closely with Project Managers and the Vice President of Strategy to ensure daily and weekly project tasks are executed efficiently and steady progress is made towards project goals.
They must be able to collect and organize accurate information to develop communication directing partners and vendors. Clear ownership of processes, proactivity, attention to detail and professional accountability are required skills for success in the role. They actively contribute to organizational efficiency in project collaborations and work to enhance internal processes.
A degree and/or background in public health is ideal, however, degrees in or transferable experience from psychology, anthropology, communications or business experience will be considered. Regardless of educational background, a demonstrated interest in communications, strategy, and/or research is needed.
Sr. Program Manager position is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring 35-40 hours per week on average. Salary is commensurate with experience, $35-$55 per hour; benefits include profit sharing retirement plan, paid holidays and vacation, employer paid short-term and long-term disability insurance; life insurance; phone allowance; and a flexible schedule as well as fun, collegial co-workers.
We work a hybrid of from home and in our midtown St. Louis office several days a week.
Required and/or desired academic training, internship or career experience:
Professional and interpersonal capacity to manage various decentralized, high-level partners in collaborative regional initiatives--required
Ability to maintain relationships with various public, private and business stakeholders—required
Understanding of MO Departments (especially the Department of Health and Senior Services or Department of Social Services) and Medicaid—required
Experience leading diverse groups in facilitated organizational, business or strategic planning--required
Excellent planning, writing, communication, and organizational skills—required
Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams--required
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, virtually and in writing—required
Ability to exercise sound judgment and to work successfully with all employee levels, regardless of background and perspective--required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially Microsoft Excel—required
Exceptional organizational skills, quick uptake and, with experience, develop ability to anticipate needs, risks and problems to support clients, other team members and supervisors--required
Ability to augment the thinking and identify the opportunities to challenge the status quo professionally and diplomatically--required
Public health experience which includes maternal and infant health preferred, chronic conditions or early childhood experience
Understanding of managed care; relationships with both managed care and public health agency stakeholders
Experience with ethnographic research and moderating focus groups
Experience using Qualtrics or other survey platform, SPSS or other statistical software
Consulting experience in a supervisory role (5+ years of experience)
Previous P/L responsibility and/or understanding of professional services business model
